The Integrated Watershed Management Program aims at restoring the ecological balance by harnessing, conserving and developing degraded natural resources such as soil, vegetative cover and water and to create sustainable livelihoods for asset less.
Prevention of soil run-off, regeneration of natural vegetation, rain water harvesting and recharging of the ground water table.

Here are a few images from the recent elections to the watershed committees in Dandepally. Chetna Organic is implementing the Integrated Watershed Management Programme with The project is being implemented in a total of 4 Gram Panchayats. As part of the programme,many activities like Gramasabhas, Kalajathas, Film Shows, Awarenes Meetings, Socio Economic survey and Participatory Net Planning have already been undertaken. Recently, user groups were formed in five Micro Watersheds and elections were held to appoint the 15 Village Watershed committees members In Mamidipalli Micro Watershed 34 User Groups were formed. With two representatives from each group a total 68 members are selected to the Village Watershed Society. These 68 members in turn selected 15 members to the Watershed Executive Committee. These elections were held on 5.7.2012 |
