Orissa Tribal Empowerment and Livelihoods Program (OTELP)
Operational Area: Koraput district in Odisha
Orissa Tribal Empowerment and Livelihood Program is supported by DFID and IFAD, implemented by Government of Orissa- to empower the tribals and enable them to enhance their food security
- to increase their incomes
- improve overall quality of their livelihood.
The overall approach of the program is to
- build the capacity of marginal groups
- enhance the access of poor tribal people to natural resources and increase its productivity
- encourage and facilitate off-farm enterprises
- monitor the basic entitlements of tribal households.
Chetna partnered with Government of Orissa to implement the program in Koraput- the most backward and ecologically fragile district, to implement the program benefitting 1250 families covering 3000 hectares.
